B.A. (Hons) Business Studies
1985/89 - 10 Year Reunion

Welcome to the second draft of the reunion web site. Lots more will be added over the coming weeks, and not all of the links work yet - but please take the time to fill out the questionnaire below immediately.

Introduction

In May 1989 we were undergoing our final exams. The graduation ceremony was held on 1st December. On the weekend of Saturday 23 October 1999 we are going to hold a major 10-year reunion back in Bournemouth.

Venue

On the Saturday night we expect to book a fairly new seafront venue called "Hot Rocks", built on the old aquariam site between the BIC and the pier.
This is a themed American surf restaurant. The upper floor seats up to 150 people, and has panoramic views over the bay. It is available for exclusive hire at approximately £40 per head - inclusive of food (but not drink). The exact cost will depend on numbers. It will be ours from 6:00pm onwards, with last orders at midnight.

Accommodation

Bournemouth has a lot of good value accommodation, so we will not attempt to organise any group bookings. The Tourist Information Centre can be reached on 01202 xxxxxx, and provides a computerised booking system for a large number of hotels and guest houses. Good quality en-suite B&B will be about £35 for a single, £50 for a double. The budget end starts at £12 per person, and rises to about £65 for the likes of the Stakis, Norfolk Royale or Highcliffe. If you're feeling really flash, and want to impress your partner with one of Europe's finest hotels, stay at the Chewton Glen in the New Forest.

Questionnaire

Right now, the most important thing for us to do is trace everyone. Please would you therefore fill in your details below, and click the Submit button underneath. Please direct any of your own contacts towards this site as soon as possible.

A list of people we have not yet traced will be published here regularly, and we welcome help from anyone to track them down.

We also welcome interest from people who were not on the BABS course itself, but were closely associated with the social groups we all formed.

If you want to update your details at any time, just come back to this page and submit a new set of information. For example, you may wish to submit just your basic details now, and spend a bit longer composing some autobiography text.

Autobiography

Please provide a summary of your life since DIHE - for publication on the contact page.

This can be as long as you want, but don't make it boring. Include your current status - eg job, location, marriage, kids etc.

Hopefully this will avoid all of the "What are you doing now" questions at the reunion itself.

Comments

Please provide any additional comments, suggestions or abuse you wish to make to the organisers of the event and/or authors of this web site.

IMPORTANT - Unless you request otherwise, your contact details will be published on this Web site.

The details will be put on a hidden contact page, that is not linked to the main one, and will not show up on any search engines. The address of this page will only be given out to people that register their details using this form, and who are subsequently authenticated.

Although extremely unlikely, it is possible that unwelcome visitors may stumble on the contact page by chance. Please therefore de-select any details you wish to withold from publication.
